Gas Pressure - Absolute 700kPa
Sensor Range Information:
- Gas Pressure kPa
0 to 700kPa Absolute
(Resolution 0.3kPa)
- Gas Pressure psi
0 to 100psi
(Resolution 0.1psi)
This sensor measures the total pressure on a system.
When the single port is left open, then the sensor measures the atmospheric pressure.
However when the sensor is connected to a sealed system, then it adds the system's pressure effect (negative or positive) to the atmospheric value.
Applications
Earth Science:
- Atmospheric pressure measurements
- Altimeter
Physics:
- Boyle's Law
- Vapour pressure of liquids
Chemistry:
- Gas Laws
This sensor is suitable for experiments requiring a wider pressure range e.g. Boyles Law and Balloon burst investigations.
The sensor element has automatic internal temperature compensation so that changes in room temperature do not affect readings.
The user manual (available from the Resources tab) has a recommendation chart for the ‘best’ sensor to use for different gas pressure investigations.
A Gas Pressure Tubing Accessory pack (3138) is available which contains PVC tubing, pipettes, connectors, stopcocks and a syringe.
