Super-C capacitor

The Super-C is modern high capacity 10 F capacitor mounted on a board with circuit protection and charge indication.

Use with the Genecon hand generators to demonstrate the link between electrical generation and storage.

Demonstrate a KERS system (kinetic energy recovery system). Use a with a motor - generator to demonstrate Flemings left and right hand rule.

The Super-C is protected against overcharge and incorrect polarity and has an LED indicator to show full charge.

Use straight out of the equipment tray, reduces significantly time lost and errors in setting up the practical.

Same style as an alternative Lascells capacitor but with a smaller capacitor tailored to data logging (10 F).

It has 4 x 4 mm terminals. The 2 on the left are the charging inputs with a protection diode to prevent incorrect polarity and the 2 on the right are the discharge circuit with an LED to indicate the state of charge.  The LED is in series with a 470 ohm resistor so it doesn’t discharge the capacitor to any extent. 

Fully charged the capacitor will run a small motor for several minutes.
