Faraday's law pack

Faraday's law pack | Order No. 100101

Combine this pack with a data logger to make a favourite physics practical easy. The pack includes a guide tube, coil, magnet and a ±1 V Smart Q Voltage sensor

The Faraday's law apparatus uses a pair of identical coils, wound onto single bobbin, to let you study the effect of coil size and the speed of a falling magnet on induced voltage.

The cleverly designed coil clip allows the coil be positioned at any place on the supplied clear acrylic tube.

The height of the drop point to the coil can be quickly and easily varied. A plot of voltage vs. magnet velocity, drop height or peak voltage can be plotted.

The link between speed of change of magnetic field and voltage produced (Faraday's law) is clearly shown. A simple to achieve practical with large learning potential, ideal as a class practical. Repeatable, reliable, results with each use and minimal setup times.

Faraday's law apparatus

  • Clear acrylic tube
  • Dual wire coil on a clip (The dual coil has 150 and 300 turns).
  • Small cylinder magnet to fit acrylic tube

The Voltage sensor is a ±1 V sensor.
