The Light Gate has an infra-red transmitter and receiver that detects objects passing through the 'gate'. Light Gates can be used singly or in pairs for time, speed, velocity and acceleration measurements. An LED, in the plastic mounting, flashes when the beam has been interrupted, which helps when setting up with users' own trolleys and inclined planes.
